I’ve spent 20+ years as an ED/CEO of multiple social ventures, both for-profit and nonprofit, and another 4 years as an interim or fractional leader for organizations across the country. This work has provided a deep understanding of how to address common technical and adaptive challenges faced by organizations as they work to achieve their desired impact.
With degrees from Brown University and the University of Washington, I began my career as a product manager in high tech. I was able to combine these skills with my desire to make a difference in kids’ lives through multiple roles as the CEO/ED in educational technology startups and early-stage companies. In typical bootstrap style, I’ve held pretty much every position in an organization regardless of what the title says.
Today, my clients are leaders and teams who are tackling some of the biggest societal issues we face, ranging from homelessness to workforce reskilling/upskilling, but the challenges I help address tend to be universal across organizations and industries. I help identify and solve the complex issues that arise in building organizations that are both heart-led and performance-based.
Born and raised in Seattle, I’ve moved away several times, but somehow I always end up back in this great city. Go M’s.
