FRACTIONAL & PROJECT LEADERSHIP

There are times when an organization needs an extra set of hands quickly, but may not need (or have the time and resources for) a full-time hire. As a fractional leader, I can jump in for as few or as many hours as is required for the task at hand, helping leadership quickly address critical capacity needs while keeping costs variable. My fractional and project work takes many forms, including:

  • Serving as the COO or similar, managing internal operations while enabling the ED/CEO to focus on being the public-facing leader of the organization.

  • Developing the market analyses and business cases for new programs, products, or ideas.

  • Scenario planning and financial modeling for strategic decisions where the leadership team and board lack quantified projections to inform those decisions.

  • Diversifying revenue, adding earned-income. Nonprofits can be hesitant to pursue earned income, yet the benefits of revenue diversification can be significant and actually make philanthropic fundraising easier by demonstrating progress towards self-sustainability. I work with organizations to identify potential earned income streams, and to develop low-cost tests to evaluate and quantify the opportunities.

  • Providing senior leadership and direction for specific departments or teams, ranging from the program and product teams to finance, HR, and operations.

  • Leading critical, complex client or partner engagements, and being a “go to” resource for whatever needs to get done…
